Day 5: May 24, 2024

Another beautiful day, topped by a victory: 71-62 in a nice little challenge against the Pino Dragons of Florence. Plus fun fact: apparently the boys dunk so hard they even cracked the rim! Before the basketball however, we soaked up all the sites of Florence, from its exquisite cathedral to the holy square which has hosted a neighborhood football match every summer for the past two millennia. And then let's not forget how important it is to get a proper meal with all that activity, which we most certainly did, trying out the 2 kilogram cuts of beef Florence has become famous for. You heard right. That's 4.5 pounds of steak, which numerous members of our travel family decided was just right for a light lunch :)
