Day 6: April 17, 2025

April 17 – Tournament Day & Montjuïc Adventures Thursday was our earliest morning of the trip. The group had breakfast at 7:20 AM and departed promptly at 7:45 for the WorldStrides Easter Tournament in Martorell. The tournament kicked off at 9:00 AM and ran until 2:30 PM. Out of the eight participating teams, New Jersey finished in 3rd place — an impressive result! Each player received a medal, and the team proudly brought home a trophy. After the tournament, everyone grabbed a quick sandwich lunch at the field’s café before heading into Barcelona for an afternoon of sightseeing. Our first stop was the Olympic Museum, where we spent about an hour learning about the city’s sporting history and the legacy of the 1992 Summer Olympics. From there, we made our way to the Montjuïc cable car. The views from the ride were absolutely stunning, offering a unique perspective of the city and coastline. We rode all the way up to the castle, where we took a group photo and had a bit of free time to explore. We returned to the hotel in the evening for dinner and some well-earned rest after another action-packed day.
