AYSO Utd - 2009 Boys - Scottish Soccer Experience

March 29, 2024  -  April 6, 2024

We started the day with an early breakfast followed by a long bus ride to a lake called Loch Lomond. The weather on the boat was cold and wet. Thankfully, we had a roof over our head! One house on the lake was a very old house and was recently turned into a 5 star hotel. It is 5 miles wide and 23 miles long. It also flows into the Atlantic Ocean. We learned this new game called bluff and Beckett lost both times. For his punishment he had to preform a Scottish river dance for the whole group. After the boat ride we went to lunch in a supermall. Their toasties were really good. In the area was an aquarium and a really pretty trail leading to the edge of a river. Following lunch, we got back on the coach and came back to the hotel to get ready for our game! On our way to the game we sang our player chants and got hyped up. Sadly our game did not go the way we wanted it to. Our team lost 3-2 to Renfrew Fc. Although we weren’t happy with the results we got to eat dinner with Renfrew Fc and they were super kind. When we got back we went to a game room and handed out awards. 2 went to the coaches Jenaee and Ralph. Our parent of the week was Mrs. Ashley. She was so kind and helpful for all the parents. Andy and the bus driver got signed jerseys from the team along with our team crest. They were so amazing throughout this whole trip and we could not be more grateful. Our player of the week went to Ms. Jenna who although always manages to get hurt in some way is a fantastic player not just on the field but off. After eating and awards we got to play some games! For the first game we split the team in half. Half were on Andy’s team and the other were on Coach Callum’s team. Each player had to eat 3 saltines without water. First team to finish won. Which was Andy’s team. Following the the first game was players vs. parents. First team to blow up all their balloons and pop them won. Unfortunately for us the parents won and we had to make a vow that we would make them breakfast for a week! Even though everyone was tired and sore we had a wonderful last day in Scotland and could not be more thankful for this opportunity! ⁃ JaNae & Elizabet
