Our day started with a good hearty breakfast before heading early to Edinburgh city center, we set off on a dreich day to a very wet walk around the city center and castle. We started off at the foot of the castle and walked down to Victoria terrace down to the grass market where the farmers drove their cattle up the cowgate, to be sold at the market.. We then stopped by the greyfiars church and graveyard where the famous wee dog, kept vigil for his departed owner, the statue was erected to the dog as a symbol of loyalty and affection and it is said if you rub his nose that you will find luck and happiness. We than passed by the faculty of advocates and the law courts and saw the declaration stone where law and proclamations were made to the people. We then split up for lunch and shopping before meeting back at the gates to the castle to tour this ancient site, seeing the scottish crown jewels which are the oldest in the uk. once our sightseeing journey finished we returned to clydebank to take on Drumchapel united which with a suspect refereeing decision saw us drawing 4 - 4 on the day. A great display by the team.
