Day 7: July 5, 2024

Today we were able to rest and wake up a little later. We took the bus to the pitch at 11:30 in the morning and headed into the interior of the Basque country. The pitch was in an incredible setting, nestled in the middle of green mountains. We played again against a local team, who took the lead on the scoreboard through a pk. In the second half we went on the attack and they took advantage to make it 0-2. We don't give up and we keep trying. With 5 minutes left we made the 1-2. We put all our energy and courage into getting the tie gol and only the post prevented it from happening. We hit the post 4 times!! Even the last play we hit the ball against the crossbar. It was a hard blow, many of us cried in the field, but once the defeat was assimilated, we got on the bus and headed to Zarautz, a small town where local people spend their summers and which is famous for its gastronomy and its surf schools. We had lunch in front of the sea and then we enjoyed as a team playing in the beach. Back in the hotel we watched Spain deafiting Germany and France dointhe same with Portugal. Despite the defeat, it hasn't been a bad day.
