Day 4: July 2, 2024

The tournament started today and the matches of all the SF United teams were in the afternoon, so we decide to go to San Sebastian and take the rack train to Mount Igueldo in the morning. Mount Igueldo is the end of La Concha Bay and from the top it is possible to see the entire bay and the city of San Sebastian. Fog and rain covered the city, which let us enjoy a beautiful image. Under Mount Igueldo is the sculpture called the comb of the wind, made by the famous Basque sculptor, Eduardo Chillida. We return to the hotel to rest and prepare for the game. We finally got to the field, we were a little nervous about the debut, but we entered the locker room and got ready to have a great game. We played against a Madrid team that was very physical. The game was very tight and we ended up losing 0-2. It was not the debut we expected, but we are happy with how well we competed. Afterwards we went to the hotel to shower and quickly go to the opening ceremony, which took place at the Reale Arena, the stadium of the Real Sociedad de San Sebastián and which ended with an amazing round of fireworks.
