Day 5: August 4, 2023

Friday was London day. Well breakfasted! the group made off to the Tower of London. Situated by the river Thames this castle has a rich and bloody history. It was formerly a prison and site of executions including Henry 8th wife Anne Boleyn. It is also where the Crown Jewels of England are held. so the group were able to see the National treasures and the Kings recently fitted crown. Later everyone went off to find lunch in and around the waterfront cafes dotted around the Tower. we then moved onto the House of Parliament to go on a walking tour that took in Westminster Abbey, Horseguards Parade, Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace. We stayed dry and the group marvelled at the history and buildings of this part of London. Older age group entry - Today we woke up at 7 and went done stairs and had a great breakfast. We had eggs, sausages,hashbrowns, cereal, and juice. Then we went to our rooms and got our laundry and brought it downstairs. After we left and we headed to London Tower and saw the Crown Jewels and torture chamber. After we took at pictures at the London Bridge and got lunch at Vicinity. After we headed back to the meeting place out of the London Tower and the Bus picked us up near the eye of london. From there we went and walked to Big Ben and took some photos. Went and saw all the military buildings. At one of them we saw the guards and horses changed places. Then we walked through a park that a pond with pigeons, ducks, and goose. We then went to Buckingham palace and walked through the grand entrance. We finished our day with shopping in letser square. We went and got crush’s from Burger King, saw a street performer playing soccer, went to the M&M store, and got some churros. Then we took the bus back to the hotel. At the hotel we had burgers, fries, pizza, and cheesecake for dinner. After dinner we collected our washed uniforms and ran to convent store and got ice cream. Half team went to my room we ate ice cream and played cards. Everyone left at 9:50 because we had a 10 pm curfew. After we packed up our bags getting ready to head to Manchester tomorrow.
