Day 4: August 3, 2023
Today was another fun filled action for the group.
The morning and early afternoon was spent at Windsor Castle. This is a magnificent site full of history and fantastic interiors. They were able to sample lunch in the town some trying fish and chips one of our favourite meals.
The weather stayed fine all day a pleasant 70 degrees!
We moved onto Gunnersbury Sports Hub to play a local team on 2x 4G pitches side by side. The older ones romped to an 8-0 victory but the score did not reflect that for a large part of the game the play was pretty equal. I watched the young players game, which turned into an excellent game. Going 3 -0 in the first half the opposition had a striker who they could not contain, he scored 3. The second half was a very different story. The striker was rested and the USA boys came roaring back into the game. They scored 2 goals and it could have been more had it not been for some super saves by their goalkeeper. Although the result was a 3-2 loss, the game and the performance of the players was much better than the first game.
Everyone enjoyed the match, players and spectators alike.
