Day 3: August 2, 2023

A fantastic day for the group. The younger boys U13s played against Grays FC a youth club based in East London. They had to experience persistent rain throughout the the match. Playing for the first time together, they were still able to pass the ball effectively and created chances against their opponents. It was an entertaining game to watch and all the squad played their part, making light of the wet conditions. The final score was 3-0 to the Independence with goals from Oliver Dissinger and 2 from Jahil Silas. Following the game the boys dried off and were quickly on their way to the very impressive Emirates Stadium, home of the Arsenal FC. We had great seats and enjoyed a high quality technical game played in front of 60,000 fans. Declan Rice Arsenal's recent £100 million signing made his home debut. The game finished 1-1, so a penalty shoot out was conducted at our end of the ground. Arsenal completed a 5-4 win so everyone went home happy.
